Donald took this picture and it looks awesome I just wanted to share it with all of you.
Hello fellow bloggers, family and friends:
I am not sure when I moved to Washington State I knew what the definition of cold winters was. I am finding out exactly what that definition means. I have lived in a lot of cold places but I’m beginning to think that those places wasn’t really cold or at least a different kind of cold. I still haven’t bought a coat yet for Misty or I but that will be fixed this coming payday. Tonight the temperature is in the lower 30’s but it feels like it is 19 degrees. The wind is out of the north and the chill of that winds feels like you in the north of Chicago and have lake wind coming off and for us have lived in and around the lakes you know what I’m talking about for those of you who have not it is dang COLD and that is the best way to describe it.
Winter when trees lose all their leaves and the grass quits growing and everything starts turning brown and the wind gets to freeze, the white stuff starts falling and it makes the highways and the roads a mess. People starts using their fireplaces, cutting up wood, but best of all everyone is still friendly at least the ones I have meet here in Washington. Maybe the few I haven’t yet met yet are too but I haven’t meet them so I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like I’m in Texas because people wave and smile at you even when they don’t know you.
I will miss the holidays at home this year but I think that in the long run I will enjoy being here more than in Texas and who knows I might just get my head together and invite people from the base or somewhere so that they can have the holidays somewhere because they can’t go home at this time. My Mom would say it would be the thing to do because she has had people over when they couldn’t go home. Misty and I would be starting our own traditions and it just might be fun too.
I talked with Stan the Man not to long ago and it seems that a lot of my friends think I’m back in Texas and living some place there but just not calling my friends well guys and gals I hate to bust you’re bubble but I’m not in Texas anywhere I’m really in the state of Washington and I’m loving every minute of it and I’m even thinking that Misty is enjoying her time here as well. Now that is something in it self because we never enjoy the same thing at the same time so in the case it is really cool.
For those of you who don’t live in Washington or any of the really cold states where they have snow, ice and slick roads be thankful that your not having bad weather but then in my way of thinking it wouldn’t be the holidays either.
Hello fellow bloggers,family and friends:
It’s that time of year again when we start thinking about why we are thankful and we also gearing up for all those holidays and spending time with family, friends and think about the ones who won’t be with us. First of all most of you who follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and other social sites know that I’m not longer living in TX so there are quite a few people there I want to tell that I miss you and love you like crazy and I want to wish you each and everyone of you the best holiday season.
My family still lives in Wichita Falls I hope you all are doing good this holiday season also. Mark if you ever decide that you’re not happy there anymore you can pack up and move here because believe it or not I miss you a lot and I do still need my brother rather he needs me or not. Just don’t bring anyone else with you unless you are not staying because I’m not sending an invite to them. Sorry it is how I feel. But if you do come and you do have every thing from the trailer please be sure to bring Carl cause he is needed here.
I’m thankful that I still have my brother Mark even if he isn’t happy with me at the moment. I’m thankful for my brother Chris even if he pretends he doesn’t need anyone but himself. I’m thankful for John and Laura because I know that both have had a bad year but they didn’t let it get them down that just keep on trying to deal with all of their issues. I’m thankful for Henry who God gave a new lease on life after his accident the reason it has taken me so long to say anything is because for a while I was in shock and because Henry didn’t know himself or anyone else for about seven months so you can see why it has taken so long. He told me and he is still have lots of issues because of his accident but he told me he still has problems remembering things that happened just before the accident and then after until he could make sense of his scrambled brain. Last but not least is all of you wonderful people I’m not naming all of you so don’t get upset if your name isn’t here but I’m still thinking of all of you. Roy, Don, Susie Sexton that have kept me sane all year and I’m so very thankful to having people who go out of the way to make sure I don’t go crazy or do something which is not good. LOL Wronda,Linda, Ivan, Greg, Bev, Bo, Laura, Stan, Linda and all my groupies at the Flush you guys know who you are I’m so happy that you are always there no matter what and continue to be there. Linda I pray for Ivan every day I hope you both are doing good.
I want to wish each of you a very happy holiday and remember Misty and I when you sit down to Thanksgiving dinner because we will be remembering each and everyone of you. I love you all take care and have a save Holiday Season!!! Henry you could smile a lot more remember it only makes people wonder what you’re thinking when you are smiling.

Hello fellow bloggers, friends and family:
Veterans Day is not like any other holiday to me. Yes we have Memorial Day, Flag Day, Remembrance Day to remember our troops (soldiers) but Veterans Day to me at least does more than that it not only remembers them but it honors their families too. We as a country are free today because of the soldiers and their families who not only went off to war because they were asked/told to go but they are leaving behind a wife who is pregnant and come home to a baby of 7 or 8 months sometimes older who doesn’t want anything to do with them because they don’t know them. Sad but so very true.
November 11 is Veterans Day if you know a soldier it shouldn’t matter if he is active or not tell him/her that you appreciate his/her satisfies and his/her families too. I can guarantee you will receive a very big smile and some kind of reply back. I am happy that I can sit here at my kitchen table and know that I’m not going to get arrested because I have power of speech behind me and the reason I do that is because I live in a democracy where we fight for our rights and continue to live FREE because of what ever man/woman does to keep us safe and free.
I read an article on military.com earlier and it got me thinking and it kind of upset me too because it didn’t talk about the a very famous soldier at all. It was about famous veterans: Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Chuck Norris, Elvis Presley, Mr. T, Ice-T, Charleston Heston, Mickey Rooney, just to name a few but the one I was surprised who wasn’t listed was Audie Murphy he was a great soldier and the most decorated also plus he has a lot of places/ things named after him included the VA Hospital in San Antonio Audie P Murphy Veterans Hospital. But then maybe the person who wrote the article isn’t a western nut or maybe he isn’t a Audie Murphy fan like me.
One more tidbit I pick up on military.com and I’m sure a lot of you out there has seen the 1945 era post-World War II sailor in Time Square and kissing the nurse well that sailor died in a nursing home on March 9 of this year his name was Glenn McDuffie and he lived in Houston since 1960. The photographer who took the picture was Alfred Eisenstaedt who took pictures for Life Magazine. The young sailor at the 18 was on his way to see his girlfriend in Brooklyn and he was in the subway when he heard that Japan had surrendered he was willing to pay $10 for a kiss but when he say the nurse he just walked up to her and kissed her no talking nothing….then walked to catch his train. Anyway 62 years later they are going through pictures and Lisa Gibbson a well-known forensic artist was asked to identify the sailor in the picture which she did. What is so funny is that I have been trying to buy the picture since I saw it at Denny’s on their wall in Las Vegas in May of this year. Every time I find it I a little short and when I have money I go and no copies are available. I have seen it in about 4 different stores around the area. Crazy right???
Don’t forget to tell your troops thanks for a job well done and for their services and also their families. I hope you have a wonderful Veterans Day yourself and if you are a soldier active or retired THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!
Hello fellow bloggers, family, and friends,
I hope each of you had a great Halloween and plenty of trick or treats. I hope that you are all getting ready for the Holiday season of Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year. This year I have a lot to be thankful for and I still have a lot to be sad about too. My daughter Misty and I have found a new beginning in Washington State we are both enjoying our life here. We have finally found a house which we will be moving in soon. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath it has a washer, dryer kitchen appliances and of course no furniture but we have a great goodwill here that has almost every thing you can think of.
We have both been busy taking lots of pictures and I promise when I get my website up for my pictures I will post a link so you can check them out. There are some nice Autumn pictures because of all the beautiful colors, there are some murals on a side of some of out local buildings, mountains and of course lakes I hope you will like them.
I have enjoyed visiting my oldest daughter, her husband and children but it will be really nice to have more space too. Misty and I are staying in our own space which is nice but we are on top of each other at times and want to murder each other (lol) but that is to be expected when it really is a big one room space and we in each others space when there isn’t really but one space.
I hope each of you will send me a message so that I can get my cards out in the mail after Thanksgiving especially the ones that have to go the different countries and different states before the big Christmas and Chanukah seasons. Thank you a head of time to each and every one of you.
Love to all,
Kat and Misty
