Remembering Dad

Misty, don’t beat yourself up just because you were tired and went home to rest. Carl would understand that and I do too. As Mom always said to all of us don’t sweat the small stuff it isn’t worth the stress. It all worked out for the best. Carl is in a better place then you and I and he is also a lot happier without that pain. Please don’t worry He knew you loved him and he truly loved you even when you didn’t want anything to do with him in the beginning. Love MOM

I would like to tell you a story. A story that ended too early. My step-dad Carl, I just call him Dad was to say the very least, an interesting person. And let me tell you something else, Germans in my family are ALL stubborn.  Yes I am qualified to make such an assessment, you see, I am also German. So I know from first hand experience.

Carl (Dad) and I didn’t get along from the beginning of his and my mother’s relationship. I didn’t really like him that much, I don’t know why. Just something about him. But that went away after a while. To be honest, it wasn’t until he started getting sick. I am ashamed to say that now. He worked hard, and tried to provide for my mom.

Well since his death on my uncle Mark’s birthday, May 30th I haven’t really dealt with it. I…
